20 Dec 2007 (Diario Oficial de El Salvador) Legislative decree 519 of December 20, 2007, makes Friday, May 2, 2008, a one-off bridge public holiday for all civil servants in El Salvador. This additional public holiday will be compensated by Saturday, April 26, 2008, being a regular working day.
01 May 2007 (elsalvador.com) El Salvador's assembly has been asked to revise the public sector's public holidays law by enshrining the concept of bridge holidays begun on a case-by-case basis this year. If implemented, the law would make a one-off, bridge public holiday, any Monday that is followed by a Tuesday public holiday, or any Friday that is preceded by a Thursday public holiday. As compensation, the Saturday of the week-end preceding the bridge holiday weekend, would be a normal working day.
20 Apr 2007 (El Diario de Hoy) The El Salvador Legislative Assembly approved a bill which gives civil servants Monday April 30, 2007, as a bridge public holiday, and extends their weekend for 4 days, from Saturday April 28, 2007 to the public holiday of Tuesday May 1, 2007. This applies to all civil servants, except the police and essential medical personnel.
22 Feb 2007 (International Herald Tribune + The Associated Press) The government declared three days of mourning, following the grisly killings of Eduardo D'Abuisson and two other little-known Salvadoran politicians. All three men belonged to El Salvador's ruling party, ARENA, and represented El Salvador at the Central American Parliament, which is based in Guatemala City and has 132 members representing five of the seven central American nations.

Governing Law: The list and dates of official public holidays in Bolivia are regulated by the Decreto Legislativo No. 685, de fecha 20 de octubre del año 1993 (Diario
Oficial No. 223, Tomo 321, de fecha 1 de diciembre 1993) as amended by the Decreto No. 177 of December 7, 2006 (Diario Oficial. - San Salvador, 20 de Diciembre de 2006).
Día Nacional de la Paz was a one-off public holiday in 1992 and then it was declared an annual public holiday through Legislative Decrees 177 and 196 of December 2006, but it is limited to state and local civil servants (empleados públicos y municipales) that are not related to essential services.
Día de la República: was declared to be celebrated every year on February 18, by Decree 537 (Declaran el 18 de Febrero de cada año “Día de la República") but it is not a public holiday.
