Background Information

Governing Law: The official public holidays in Grenada are regulated by the Bank Holidays Act which was amended after the 1979 revolution by the People's Law No. 37: Bank Holidays (Amendment) Act 1979 (removal of Queen's birthday from the public holidays list) and after the US invasion by the Bank Holidays (Government Gazette, 1988-05-20, Vol. 106, No. 23, Ac, p. 127-128).  Carnival Tuesday: Officially, Carnival Tuesday is not one of Grenada's official public holidays (as listed on the official Government of Grenada website).
