• Christmas Day: Oddly enough, the Holidays Act of Jamaica does not list Christmas Day as a public holiday (although it does specifically refer to the day after Christmas). But, in practice, Christmas Day has been observed as a public holiday in Jamaica for as far back as records can be found.
• Weekend Public Holidays: Public holidays that fall on a Sunday are moved to the following Monday. (the same is not always true for public holidays that fall on a Saturday). |
