• 08 Feb 2012 (Serbian Government Ministry of Labour and Social Policy-Belgrade) Serbia's government advisor for energy issues, Petar Skundric, has announced that he would recommend to the government of Serbia that it declare the period of February 15-20, 2012, as non-working public holidays in Serbia in an effort to conserve energy in the midst of the current cold spell blanketing Europe.
• 20 Dec 2011 (Serbian Government Ministry of Labour and Social Policy-Belgrade) The Serbian Ministry of Labour and Social Policy has announced the list of official non-working public holidays in January 2012 in Serbia, following the recent changes in Serbian public holidays legislation.

• 16 Nov 2009 (B92-Belgrade) The government of Serbia has proclaimed three days of mourning, from November 16-18, 2009, following yesterday afternoon's death of Serbian Orthodox Church head, Patriarch Pavle.
• 08 Nov 2009 (Deutsche Presse-Agentur-Belgrade) Serbia's Education Minister, Zarko Obradovic, has announced that it had decided to extend the autumn school holidays, for another 3 days, until Wednesday, November 11, 2009.
• 21 Feb 2008 (Reuters) The Government of Serbia is organizing a demonstration against Kosovo's independence, later this afternoon. To that end, it has decreed that all schools and educational institutions would be closed for the day, and urged businesses to give the day off to their workers.
• 06 Apr 2007 (Ministry of Work, Health and Social Afairs) On March 29, 2007, as a corollary to the June 2006 separation of Montenegro, the Serbian Government announced that Constitution Day (April 27) will no longer be a public holiday in Serbia, as that date referred to the constitution of the former entity.

Caso haja qualquer pergunta a respeito destes comentários, favor entrar em contato conosco. • Governing Law: Official public holidays in Serbia are regulated by the 2001 Labour Code (Official Gazette of RS, No. 43/2001 and 101/2007).
• Weekend Public Holidays: Public holidays that occur on a Sunday are moved to the following Monday.
• Other days of note but which are not public holidays are:
• Saint Sava (Spirituality Day): January 27th,
• Victory Day (May 9) which, despite being an official public holiday, is nonetheless a working day in Serbia and in the • Autonomous Province of Vojvodina.
• Saint Vitus' Day: June 28th.
• Employee-Related Holidays: based on their religious affiliations, employees are entitled to take the following days off (which are not public holidays):
• Orthodox Christians: the 1st day of the family saint holiday.
• Catholic Christians: from Catholic Good Friday until the second day of Catholic Easter.
• Members of Islamic community: the 1st day of Ramadan Bayram and the 1st day of Kurban Bayram.
• Members of Jewish community: the 1st day of Yom Kippur. |
