Below is the list of the changes, updates and amplifications made to the Q++ World Holidays Database web pages (also available as one of our RSS News Feeds). These changes can be updated holidays, last minute holidays changes, the addition of background information of each country's holidays observance, and even sometimes news about events that we feel may impact holidays in the near future. 22-Sep-2007

The prediction of Muslim public holidays has been improved by the use of the specific calculation methods used in various Muslim countries. In particular, the Q++ Worldwide public holidays database now makes predictions using, where appropriate, the LCRSS, MABIMS, JAKIM, MUIS, ESA and DIB predictive methods.

The fully reviewed Q++ Studio Worldwide Public Holidays Database is now available to Q++ Studio Users and to licensees of the Q++Studio Worldwide Public Holidays Database from our updates page (note, this is not a text or Excel file, this updater will only work when imported into an installed version of Q++ Studio).

12-Aug-2007

The full annual review of all the predictive rules of the Q++ Studio Worldwide Public Holidays Database is complete. We will released it to licensees after 2 weeks of final checks (mostly spell-checking).

Added entries for 2 new semi-autonomous territories: Saint Barthélemy and Saint Martin (both recently separated from Guadeloupe).

The Muslim holidays for Singapore are now calculated using the official MUIS (Majlis Ugama Islam Singapura) lunar visibility criteria.

The full annual revision of the Q++ Worldwide Database of Public Holidays is complete.

15-July-2006

Added an entry for the West Bank and Gaza (also known as The Palestinian Authority).

10-July-2006

Following the June 3, 2006, referendum giving Montenegro independence from Serbia, the Serbia and Montenegro entry has now been split into 2 separate entries: one for Serbia and one for Montenegro.

Started the yearly revision of our database of worldwide public holidays and bank holidays.

19-Mar-2006

The  religious holidays of Cambodia, Myanmar and Thailand were updated, as we can now predict the holidays for most Buddhist South-East Asian holidays from first principles.

1-Sep-2005

South Korean holidays were re-defined using the Korean Lunar calendar rather than the Chinese lunar calendar. This has an effect on the date of the Lunar New Year, in less than 5% of the cases, in which cases the date in Korea is one day later than in China.

17-Aug-2005

Yearly update is finished. The database now contains 237 countries and territories (all the ones listed in the CIA Factbook).
