Belarus President, Alyaksandr Lukashenka, has confirmed that the upcoming referendum will include a question on changing the public holiday marking the republic's declaration of independence from July 27th to July 3rd.
The July 27 anniversary of the Declaration of Sovereignty, was adopted by the Belarusian Supreme Soviet (parliament) of Belarus on July 27, 1990. July 3rd is the date when, in 1944, the city of Minsk was liberated.
