Following yesterday's referendum, Belarus President, Alyaksandr Lukashenka, has formally implemented the move of the July 27th public holiday to July 3rd by decree.
The referendum question on the change of public holiday date from July 27, the anniversary of the Declaration of Sovereignty, to July 3rd, the date when Minsk was liberated, had been announced last summer (02-Aug-1996).
