Honduras' Ministry of the Interior (Ministerio de Gobernación y Justicia) has announced that the public sector would be on holidays from April 3 until April 8 in the morning, on account of the upcoming Holy Week.
The spokesperson for the Ministry of the Interior did point out that the above only represents one additional day of public sector holidays, as Maundy Thursday and Good Friday are already compulsory public holidays (asuetos obligados).
In any event, the government did exhort the private sector to also grant the Wednesday before Easter, April 3, 1996, to its employees to allow them to travel to their villages for the Holy Week celebrations.
