Chile Confirms December 11 Public Holiday

(Posted on Monday, December 1, 1997)

Source: Servicio Electoral (Santiago)

Chile's Electoral Service has announced that, as per the 1998, Ley 18.700, the date of Thursday, December 11, 1997, had been declared a one-off public holiday in Chile.

That date corresponds to the upcoming parliamentary elections.

Note that, as per the same 1988 "Ley 18.700 Organica Constitucional Sobre Votaciones Populares y Escrutinios", the date of the upcoming Presidential elections will also be a public holiday. However, that date is a Sunday.
