Thailand Declares December 30 Public Holiday

Thailand's Prime Minister, Chavalit Yongchaiyudh, has declared Tuesday, December 30, 1997, a one-off public holiday.

Technically, the decree only applies to government services, but it appeals to the private sector to also grant its employees a paid public holiday on Tuesday, December 30, 1997.
