December 20, 1999, the date when Macau becomes an administrative region of China, has been declared a public holiday in Macau, as per the recently released "Press Communique on the Second Plenary Session of the Preparatory Committee for the Macao Special Administrative Region".
Apparently, the committee has discussed, but not finalized the arrangement of public holidays in Macao in the year 2000, the first year after Macao's return to China (04-Aug-1998).
