Kyrgyzstan Announces Date of Upcoming Eid al-Adha Public Holiday

The government of the Kyrgyz Republic has issued a resolution declaring Sunday, March 28, 1999, as an official public holiday in Kyrgyzstan, on the occasion of the upcoming Kurman Ayt (Eid-ul-Adha).

The resolution also specifies that, according to the Labour Code of Kyrgyzstan, if a public holiday coincides with a Sunday, then the following day is a public holiday, and that, therefore Monday, March 29, 1999, has been declared a public holiday.

In addition, as the Novruz public Holiday falls on a Sunday this year, Monday, March 22, 2009, has also been declared a public holiday in the aforementioned resolution.
