(Posted on Thursday, December 30, 1999)

Source: Radio Uganda (Kampala)

The Government of Uganda has announced that Friday, December 31, 1999, would be a one-off public holiday.

It was not clear, from the announcement, if this is to ascertain the Y2K compliance of critical IT systems, or to usher in the new millenium.
