Argentina Chooses April 2 Malvinas' Day As National Public Holiday

(Posted on Wednesday, November 22, 2000)

Source: Senado de la Nación Argentina (Buenos Aires)

The ley nacional 25.370/00 (Día del Veterano y de los Caídos en la Guerra en Malvinas) was ratified, making April 2, an hitherto commemorative date, a full national public holiday.

This amends law 22.769 (B.O.30/3/83) of March 28, 1983 (Día de las Islas Malvinas, Georgias del Sur y Sandwich del Sur) and repeals the Decreto nacional 901/84 of March 1984 (B.O.28/3/84) which had moved the Malvinas' public holiday from April 2 to June 10.
