The "Public Holidays Amendment Act" had its first reading this week. It will make the Monday nearest to the birth date of the first Chief Minister, Hon. H. L. Stoutt a new annual public holiday.
As compensation, it will remove "the birthday of the Heir to the Throne" from the existing list of public holidays in the British Virgin Islands.
