The territorial adminustrator of the Cocos (Keeling) Islands has released the official list of 2001 public holidays which, for the first time, adds an annual observance of the Muslim Hijra New Year public holiday.
The date of the Prophet's Birthday (Maulud Nabi), which was incorrectly listed last year (30-Aug-1999), has been corrected in the list of 2001 public holidays.
