Mauritania's President has issued Decree 004-2000 which declares Saturday, January 8, 2000, the day after the Eid El Fitr (End of Ramadan) public holiday, as a one-off public holiday in Mauritania.
The decree, later published in the "Journal numéro : 967- du 30/01/2000 - page 91", thus extends the Eid El Fitr (End of Ramadan) public holiday for a second day in Mauritania, as was done semi-systematically in the past (25-Mar-1999, 13-Jan-1999 and 06-Apr-1998).
