Pakistan 2001 Public Holidays Announced

The Government of Pakistan has published the list of official public holidays in Pakistan for the calendar year 2001.

The published document includes 2 days for the Eid- ul- Azha (Feast of Sacrifice) and Ashura Muslim public holidays, while the Eid ul- Fitr public holiday is scheduled to last 3 days in 2006.

As usual 3 banks-only public holidays are listed one in early January, one in early July, and one on the first day of the Muslim month of Ramadan.

Finally, the announcement includes, as appendix, a list of 22 "Optional Holidays For The Federation And The Provinces".
