Law 1/01 of March 23, 2001, went into effect, amending Law 16/96 of September 27, 1996, known as the Law on National Holidays. Four new public holidays have been added to the list of public holidays in Angola.
These are: March 8 (International Women's Day); May 1 (International Workers' Day); May 25 (Africa Day); and June 1 (International Children's Day).
