The Kazakh government has passed a resolution which declares 2 one-off bridge public holidays; one on Friday, August 31, 2001, and one on Friday, October 26, 2001, to be observed jointly with the 2 annual public holidays for Constitution Day and Republic Day which both fall on a Thursday this year.

As is traditionally the case (19-Apr-2001), and to compensate for the aforementioned additional public holidays, Sunday, September 2, 2001, and Sunday, October 28, 2001, have been declared regular working days throughout Kazakhstan.
