At its last meeting, Mauritania's Cabinet has agreed to the list of 2002 public holidays, which includes, for the first time a public holiday on February 1st, to commemorate the abolition of slavery, and one on November 2, to mark the arrival of indentured labourers in Mauritius.
These 2 public holidays had been expected last year (28-Jul-2000), but in the end the 2001 official public holidays in Mauritius did not include them.
At that same meeting, the Cabinet also set forth the School Holidays Calendar in Mauritius, for the year 2002.
