Philippines presidential spokesman, Rigoberto Tigalo, has announced that December 24 and 31, 2001, would be declared one-off public holidays for both government and private employees.
The President, who has scrapped her earlier proposal of holiday economics for long Christmas holidays from December 24 to January 1st, is expected to issue the formal proclamation about the non-working holidays this week.
