Uzbekistan's President, Islam Karimov, has signed a government decree declaring Tuesday, March 6, 2001, a non-working public holiday to celebrate the Islamic religious holiday of Eid-ul-Adha.
The aforementioned decree was adopted at the request of the Muslim Spiritual Board of Uzbekistan, although the declaration of the Id al-Adha public holiday stems from the presidential decree of June 20, 1991.
