Despite international pressures to remove Kashmir Solidarity Day from its list of official public holidays, the government of Pakistan has confirmed that Tuesday, February 5, 2002, would be observed, once again, as an official public holiday throughout Pakistan.
Kashmir Solidarity Day was declared an annual public holiday in Pakistan in 2000 by the National Security Council, under the chairmanship of the chief executive, General Pervez Musharraf (03-Feb-2000).
