The Special Minister for State of Australia's NSW, John Della Bosca, has announced that a public holiday had been gazetted in NSW for Monday, January 27, 2003, giving residents a long weekend to celebrate Australia Day.
NSW has thus repeated its declaration of a day in lieu last year (17-Aug-2001) and joined other states and territories in giving workers a day off on the Monday (05-Jan-2002).
