A spokeswoman for the Victorian state government announced that Monday, January 27, 2003, would be an official public holiday, in lieu of January 26, which falls on a Sunday this year.
This is the second year in a row that both Victoria State and NSW declared day in lieu public holidays for the Australia Day public holiday (31-Aug-2001 and 17-Aug-2001).
