Cook Islands' Prime Minister’s Office chief of staff, Joe Caffery, has released a statement clarifying the list of public holidays in the Cook Islands and the dates on which they are to be observed.
He re-stated that, In the context of the Public Holidays Act 1999, when a public holiday falls on a Saturday or Sunday, the holiday is to be observed on the following Monday, and the rules for consecutive public holidays, such as Christmas and Boxing Day, that fall on a weekend.
