Mali's UDD Party (Union pour la démocratie et le développement) has formally asked the President of Mali and its National Assembly, to declare the day after Muslim public holidays, also as public holidays.
The main argument put forth by the UDD in its letter to the President of Mali is that the day after these Muslim feasts is improductive anyways, so one might as well make this "désertion massive des secteurs vitaux de l'économie" an official fact.
