Thailand's Prime Minister, Thaksin Shinawatra, has announced that only government units in the capital and the two outlying provinces of Samut Prakan and Nonthaburi, will have a special non-working public holiday during the upcoming APEC summit.
This clarification follows an announcement, late last week, that all government agencies and states firms will have four extra public holidays, October 17, 20, 21 and 22, as well as the weekend of October 18-19, to coincide with the upcoming APEC Summit (07-Aug-2003).
