Gabon Amends Public Holidays Law

The government of Gabon has gazetted the "Décret, n°000484/PR/MTE du 26 mai 2004, portant modification de l'article 2 du décret n°000727/PR/MTEFP du 2 Juin 1998 " which amends Gabon's list of official non-working public holidays.

The current decree adds the annual public holidays of Women's Day and Ascension Day to the list contained in the "Décret n°000727/PR/MTEFP du 2 Juin 1998" (29-Jun-1998).

The aforementioned decree also gives the President of Gabon more latitude in declaring one-off public holidays, such as the one declared last summer (03-Jul-2003).
