Indonesia's Minister for manpower and transmigration, Jacob Nuwa Wea, has released the official list of Indonesian public holidays for the calendar year 2005.
As announced last year (26-Feb-2003), rather than declaring bridge public holiday for Thursday public holidays, this year Indonesia has moved 2 of its public holidays, The Prophet's Birthday (Maulid Nabi Muhammad SAW) and The Prophet's Ascension (Isra Mi'raj' Nabi Muhammad SAW) from their Thursday dates to the following Friday.
In addition, 4 days of joint leave (Cuti Bersama), first implemented in late 2002 (07-Nov-2002), were declared around the time of the End of Ramadan (Idul Fitri), giving Indonesians a 7-day period of public holidays, from November 2 to November 8, 2005.
