The Prime Minister of Papua New Guinea (PNG), Sir Michael Somare, has announced the public holidays and special observance days for 2005, as endorsed by the National Executive Council.

Of note in that announcement is that, beginning in 2005, the annual Remembrance Day public holiday, would move from its traditional date of July 23 to the date of ANZAC Day, April 25.
