Philippines Assembly Approves February 21 Public Holiday

(Posted on Monday, January 26, 2004)

The Philippines House of Representatives has finally passed House Bill No. 6240 which makes August 21 of every year a special non-working public holiday, to be named Ninoy Aquino Day.

This follows last year's passing of a similar bill in the Senate (19-Nov-2003). Both bills now need to be consolidated by a bi-cameral assembly.
