The Philippines Senate and House of Representatives, assembled in Congress, have passed Republic Act 9256, declaring August 21 of every year as Ninoy Aquino Day, to be observed as a special non-working public holiday.
This Act which is a consolidation of Senate bill No. 2636 (19-Nov-2003) and House Bill No. 6240 (26-Jan-2004), were passed by the Senate and by the House of Representatives on November 19, 2003 and January 26, 2004, respectively.
