Russia's Parliament Approves New Public Holidays Bill

Yesterday, the State Duma, the lower house of the Russian parliament, has approved in its third and final reading, a bill amending Russian law to rename one public holiday and establish a new public holiday in Russia.

Most of the changes discussed earlier (23-Nov-2004) were passed. Among other things, the bill envisages renaming the Day of Accord and Reconciliation (former Great October Revolution Day) the Day of the Military Parade on Red Square.
