The UAE's Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs, Saeed Al Ghaith, has announced that Federal Ministries and public sector institutions will remain closed on Saturday, January 1st, 2005, to mark the beginning of the Western new year with an official public sector holiday.
A similar announcement is expected soon to cover the private sector.
