Uzbekistan's President, Islom Karimov, has issued a resolution declaring Sunday, November 14, 2004, the first day of the Id al-Fitr Muslim festival, marking the end of Ramadan, as a national non-working public holiday.
The declaration of Muslim public holidays, and their date, is usually done on a case-by-case basis in Uzbekistan (21-Nov-2003 and 04-Dec-2002).
