Cambodia has released it 2006 list of official public holidays. As our local contacts had reported, the list, for the first time, does not include the October 23 public holiday commemorating the 1991 Paris Peace Accords.
Earlier this year, an outcry ensued when it was announced that Cambodia’s 25 existing national holidays would henceforth not include the Paris Peace Agreements day, forcing the Cambodian authorities explicitly state that there was no hidden agenda behind this change.
