A five-day public holiday will begin Tuesday, December 13, 2005, in Iraq, ahead of the parliamentary elections. During that period, a 10:00 pm - 6:00 am curfew will be imposed nationwide.
In addition, Baghdad's international airport will be closed for three days from December 14 to December 16, while the country's land borders will also be shut from December 14 until December 17.
A similar extended period of public holidays was declared last October on the occasion of the October 15th referendum (02-Oct-2005).
