The government of Iraq has declared the 4 days from Thursday October 13 to Sunday October 16, 2005, as public holidays, before and after the upcoming October 15th referendum.

The declaration of multi-day public holidays at the time of elections is a staple of Iraqi life (19-Jan-2005).
