Kazakhstan Declares October 24 Bridge Public Holiday

(Posted on Tuesday, September 27, 2005)

Kazakhstan's Prime Minister, Danial Akhmetov, has signed a decree making Monday, October 24, 2005, a one-off public holiday to bridge the one-day gap between this year's October 25 Republic Day public holiday, and the preceding weekend.

As is traditionally the case (16-Feb-2005, 08-Apr-2003, and 14-Dec-2002), and to compensate for the aforementioned additional public holiday, Saturday, October 22, 2005, has been declared a regular working day in Kazakhstan.
