In its announced list of public holidays and observance dates for 2006, the Government of Papua New Guinea has restore the Remembrance Day public holiday to its erstwhile date of July 23.
The Remembrance Day public holiday was moved from July 23 to April 25, last year (20-Sep-2004), in a move that was meant to be permanent, but which has proved unpopular.
Note that an earlier version of the 2006 gazetted public holidays of Papua New Guinea still had Remebrance Day on April 25 (12-Sep-2005).
