Peru Declares August 29 Public Holiday

(Posted on Friday, August 26, 2005)

Source: Sistema Peruano de Información Jurídica

Peru's President, Alejandro Toledo, signed decree 066-2005-PCM making Monday, August 29, 2005, a one-off public holiday to bridge the one-day gap between the week-end and the annual public holiday of August 30.

Strictly speaking, the decree applies only to the civil service, but Article 4 of the decree does encourage the private sector to also observe Monday, August 29, 2005, a one-off public holiday.
