Philippines President, Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo (PGMA), signed Proclamation No.808, declaring Saturday, March 26, 2005, which falls between Good Friday and Easter Sunday, as a special non-working public holiday throughout the country.
In addition, all employees of departments, offices, agencies and instrumentalities of the executive branch of the government, including government-owned or controlled corporations, will not be required to report for work on Wednesday, March 23, 2005, as was the case in 2003 (11-Apr-2003) and 2002 (13-Mar-2002).
Note that March 23, 2005, is the day before Maundy Thursday, which is also a public holiday in the Philippines, meaning that the Philippines public sector will be on holidays from March 23 to March 27, 2005.
