Trinidad and Tobago Announces December 27 Public Holiday

The Office of the Prime Minister of Trinidad and Tobago has released a statement that Tuesday, December 27, 2005, had been declared a one-off day in lieu public holiday in the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago.

The decision was taken on the basis of the Public Holidays and Festivals Act (Chapter 19:05) which provides that where a public holiday falls on a Sunday, or where two public holidays fall on the same day, the next day that is not a public holiday, shall be a public holiday.
