UAE Declares 2-Day Private Sector Holiday

The UAE's Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs has announced that private companies and establishments would remain closed on the first and second day of Shawwal for the upcoming Eid Al Fitr holidays.

The first day of the Eid Al Fitr is expected to occur on Thursday, November 3, 2005.

Yesterday (), the UAE's Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs announced that the UAE's federal government ministries, institutions and agencies would remain closed for the Eid Al Fitr holiday, from Wednesday, November 2nd, 2005, until Sunday, November 6, 2005, inclusively.
