The UAE's Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs, Saeed Khalfan Al Gaith, has announced that Wednesday, August 31st, 2005, was to be observed as a public holiday by the country's ministries and other government institutions.
With the civil service weekends running Thursdays and Fridays, this means that this year's Al Israa wal Miraaj public sector holidays will run from August 31 to Friday, September 2, 2005, inclusively.
