Uganda's members of parliament have overwhelmingly recommended that government declare Monday 24 October, the day late President Apollo Milton Obote will be buried, a public holiday.

This non-binding vote comes after the executive branch refused to declare a public holiday, earlier this week (18-Oct-2005).
