A projected ordinance would make November 8th, a yearly public holiday for municipal workers.
Although this is currently only planned for the Paraná region, it comes on the heels of the Day of the Bank Workers (02-Nov-2006) which caused a lot of problems nation-wide for bank clients and ATM users.
That holiday was also originally only supposed to be limited geographically, but was extended to a nationwide observance in the days leading to it.
