Aruba has confirmed that this year, it would follow the Netherlands' handling of the cases when the Queen's Birthday public holiday falls on a Sunday, and that the Queen's Birthday public holiday would be celebrated in Aruba on Saturday, April 29, in 2006.
The last time this happened, in 2000, both the Netherlands Antilles and Aruba refused to move the public holiday from Sunday, April 30th.
Whether this year's change will be repeated in the future, when April 30 falls on a Sunday, remains to be seen. But in any case, this will not be an issue until 2017.
